Secondly, we will invest in the protection of biodiversity through the collection, storage and transformation of the various wastes that our respective entities emit, particularly water, electronic, plastic, and glass waste.

Thirdly, we will eventually work to reduce our capacity to emit waste into the environment.

Water

“Water is life”, as we say. The poor access to drinking water by Cameroonian populations calls for our solidarity and mobilizes our commitment.

This commitment is to facilitate access to this precious liquid to citizens in the four corners of Cameroon.

We will increase our investment in this segment by increasing the number of boreholes to be built. It will be more a question of ensuring their periodic maintenance.

The construction of boreholes throughout the country will be accompanied through campaigns in the direct distribution of drinking water via mobile tanks to the populations in the neighborhoods of the city of Douala mainly.

For the Community

Water is Life

Water is essential to life, and one of our greatest successes in supporting local communities in Cameroon has been the supply of life giving clean water to communities al over the country. It is an ongoing initiative, and an immense point of pride to UCB.

We are delighted to support the community with this essential ingredient of life.

We provide water in a number of ways:

  1. We have built, and maintain, 6 boreholes in the different regions Cameroon, where people can obtain clean, fresh water for free – there is no charge to the community.
  2. We supply water to communities in Douala who do not have access to clean water locally. The water is taken to these communities in 3 trucks on a daily basis; each truck has a capacity of 20 000 litres, and the water is given away freely to community members.
  3. We also provide, on an ongoing basis, our bottled Madiba Water to new mothers at the Maternity Hospitals in Douala; also at no cost.

Breathe Easy

The Respirator Initiative

A major initiative run by UCB during the COVID crisis was the provision of quality respirators; free of charge; to hospitals in around the country, to counter the critical shortage of respirators experienced by hospitals during the pandemic. These respirators were instrumental in the saving of a number of lives in Cameroon.

Quality Back to School

The QBTS Initiative

The 8th edition of the famous Quality Back to School campaign, abbreviated QBTS of the Kadji Beer brand, ended last weekend in Yaoundé.

It was during a ceremony high in sound and color that the Inspector General Coordinator, personal representative of the Minister of Secondary Education drew the end curtain on this initiative in the presence the President of the Fu’a Toula Foundation Kadji Defosso, the top management of the Union Camerounaise de Brasseries, and Assurances Générales du Cameroun AGC.

As a reminder, the QBTS concept, in partnership with the Ministry of Secondary Education, aims to improve the quality of education by promoting and rewarding the main players in the education system. It is the major promotional campaign of the Union Camerounaise de Brasseries, backed by the KADJI BEER® brand.
